Fever up for B.C. title run

The Vernon Fever open the Provincial Co-Ed C Slo-Pitch Championships today in Langley against the Show Stoppers.

There are 28 teams trying to qualify for the 2012 C National Championships scheduled for Langley.

Coached by Heather Savitsky, the Fever are sponsored by Etap Productions Ltd. (Jim Pate) of Langley and Progressive Automotive of Vernon (Arnie Deederly).

The tourney is a three-game, round-robin format followed by a single knockout playoff system.

The Fever battle the Show Stoppers at 2:40 p.m., and then go up against the Rampage at 6:40 p.m. They finish preliminary play Saturday at noon versus the A Team.

Representing the Fever are: Kelli Graham, Brandie Hunter, Nancy LaFreniere, Belinda Marks, Cortnay Solmes, Katey McPhedran, Michelle Embleton (on injury reserve), Don Hunter, Mike Burke, Kurt Roberts, Brandon Solmes (injury reserve), Ernie Cupello, Wayne Larsson, Troy Warner and Bryce Welder.
