Colin Fitzgerald's two-goal performance lifts Canucks past Whalers.

Colin Fitzgerald scored twice as the Teale Utility Canucks shelled the Royal LePage Whalers 6-1 in Vernon Hockey League action Wednesday night at Wesbild Centre.

Darcy Quiring, with 1+3, Mike Burke, with 1+2, Nick Kalashnikoff and Troy Killingbeck completed the Canuck offence in front of Steven Clark. Reed Church supplied three helpers.

Kyle Johnson replied for the Whalers.

The R.E. Postill & Sons Orphans built up a 7-2 lead and hung on for a 10-8 win over the Kasper Denture Clinic Red Wings Tuesday night at Civic Arena.

Bryce Kakoske supplied 3+1 and Leath Gare earned 2+6 for the Orphans, who got two goals, including a lengthy, crazy bank shot off the glass for an empty netter, from Jamie Johansson.

Brad Sindlinger and Jeremy Silzer also scored for the Orphans, who got two assists from Grady Gare.

Trevor Keenan counted 3+1 for the Red Wings, while Blair Fernley pocketed 1+2 and singles also came from Rhett Ballard,  Jarett Watts and Kasper. Cody Bostock produced three helpers.
