Gymnastics duo medal in Kelowna

Okanagan Gymnastics Centre in Kelowna hosts season-opening competition

Two Vernon gymnasts dusted off the cobwebs at a small regional meet to bring home medals.

Okanagan Gymnastics Centre members Veronika Yacovelli and Taylor Bowden were part of the host team that put on the Cobweb Invitational at its facility in Kelowna.

The Cobweb is a meet put on for gymnasts to dust the cobwebs off of their routines as they prepare for the upcoming competitive season.

In the Level 6 Junior category, Yacovelli finished first overall after winning the bars and balance beam. She finished with a silver medal on the vault and floor exercise.

For Level 8, Bowden finished with two silver medals on the balance beam and floor exercise.

Okanagan Gymnastics took home the all around gold in 12 out of 14 categories.
