Hitch’s deuce delivers for Monashee

Cam Hitch bagged two goals as Monashee Surveying FC upended the Revelstoke Stallions 4-1 in North Okanagan Soccer League play Wednesday night in Salmon Arm.

Alberto Lopez and Bret Korberg also scored for Monashee, who padded their league-leading record to 11-1. The Stallions dipped to 1-7.

Auto Quest Nation of Domination stuffed Turn-Key Controls 5-2 in Salmon Arm.

NOD (4-4-1) struck first with a nice through ball that the striker just snuck past keeper Jordan Vandermeulen.

The play was back and forth for most of the first half with Turn-Key (3-6) turning up the pressure creating a few opportunities. Turn-Key finally got a through ball through to TJ Colovos who tapped the ball over the keeper to even the score.

Turn-Key enjoyed some pressure just before the break and Mees Geelkerken was taken down for the penalty shot. He nicely placed the PK bottom corner to give Turn-Key the 2-1 lead.

NOD posted two quick goals to take the lead before Turn-Key recovered and went hard for the equalizer, giving up two more goals on counter attacks.

The Salmon Arm GM Outlaws clipped the visiting Peters Tirecraft 2-1.

Tyler Loose scored for Tirecraft (3-7) on a penalty kick late in the second half to make it 2-1. The Tirecraft All-Terrain Tread Award went to Brock Reim for his work in the central midfield. The Outlaws are 2-6.
