The Kootenay International Junior B Hockey League squad will play its first six regular season games in the friendly confines of the Nor-Val Sports Centre.

The league released its 2014-15 schedule on the weekend. Each team plays 52 regular season games.

The Knights will open the year on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. against the Osoyoos Coyotes. North Okanagan will also close out its regular season with a date Feb. 14 in Osoyoos.

The Knights will also host the Golden Rockets, Princeton Posse, Fernie Ghostriders, Summerland Steam and Kelowna Chiefs in the season-opening homestand.

North Okanagan will play its first road game on Saturday, Sept. 27, in Summerland.

There will be another five-game homestand at Nor-Val from Jan. 16 to 23.

The regular season will end with five of the final seven Knights’ contests on the road. The last home game is Sunday, Feb. 8 against the 100 Mile House Wranglers.

The Knights will not play any games against the Kootenay Conference’s Neil Murdoch Division teams (Beaver Valley, Castlegar, Nelson, Grand Forks and Spokane) as per the rotational schedule within the league.

There will be 10 Knights home games on Friday night and 10 more on Sunday afternoon. There are four Wednesday night contests scheduled along with two on Saturday night.

Games on Friday will start at 7:30 p.m. while Sunday contests will begin at 3 p.m.

The Saturday game on Feb. 20 against Fernie will start at 7 p.m. while the contest on Saturday, Jan. 17, against the Kimberley Dynamiters, will start at 8 p.m.

Wednesday games will start at 7 p.m.

The Knights begin their training camp Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Nor-Val Sports Centre.
