University of British Columbia junior golfer Conner Kozak led his Thunderbirds to a third-place finish at the Embry-Riddle University Bash at the Beach men’s golf tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla. over the weekend.
The W.L. Seaton Secondary product is one of the veterans on the UBC team.
Kozak finished tied for ninth following two even-par rounds. His two-round total left him five shots back of the leader, Chase Miller from Coastal Georgia.
UBC finished third, 17 strokes behind Coastal Georgia.
The tournament featured seven of the top-25 NAIA schools.
The T-Birds’ performance boosts them into 11th place in the latest NAIA Men’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 poll.
The Bash at the Beach is UBC’s last event before the post-season. The team will return to Vancouver and prepare for the Association of Independent Institutions conference tournament April 27-28 at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash.
