Lacrosse’s North Okanagan U16 Legends take two-of-three in

Minor squad gets in three games in three days

Three games in three days.

Include the season-opening win, and it was four games in six days for the North Okanagan Tolko Legends in Okanagan U16 Lacrosse League action.

The Legends started things Friday, April 22, with a 6-3 loss to the Kodiaks in Kelowna.

Cole Gartner, Kian Yargeau and Aiden Wattie scored for North Okanagan with Sean Harty and Koem Mahar-Robins picking up assists. Axel Manson made 34 saves in a strong showing in the Legends’ goal.

Fellow netminder Taylor Robins-Swanson got the call the next day at home against the Kamloops Rattlers, and Robins-Swanson responded with a 38-save showing as the Legends edged the visitors 9-8 at the Priest Valley Arena.

Wattie led the offence with 3+2, Gartner and Yargeau each had 2+1. Teigan Kelley had a goal and one helper while Kohen Pounder rounded out the North Okanagan scoring. Harty had another assist.

The Legends finished the weekend at Priest Valley Sunday by doubling the Penticton Heat 8-4. Kelley erupted for the hat trick. Yargeau (2+1) and Gartner each had two goals while Pounder added 1+2. Harty also picked up an assist to support Manson between the pipes.

NOVICE

North Okanagan T-Mann Mechanical Legends headed south for a pair of league games.

The Legends dropped a hard-fought 10-7 decision to the Heat in Penticton. Mason Lightfoot and Rylan Yargeau each scored twice for North Okanagan while singles went to Carter McEachnie, Nash McNaught and Ty Orton.

The T-Mann Mechanical squad continued on to Princeton, to play a team new to the Okanagan league, and came away with a 15-2 victory.

Lightfoot and Yargeau each scored four times, and Lincoln Mann had a hat trick and an assist, to lead the Legends. Haiden Smithson scored twice while McEachnie and Ryker Johnson added singles.

Brielle Marchand was awesome in goal for the Legends in both games.

TYKE

North Okanagan Little Seedlings Daycare Legends hosted a double header at the Priest Valley Arena against Kelowna and Kamloops.

No scores are kept but the Legends got strong effort from Lokki Grotterod, Eli Mains, Hudson Langley and Rocco Melvin. Brielle DeClerk, Taysa Mahar-Robins, Nixon Mann and Aiden Marchand were strong in net.
