The North Okanagan #1 Legends exploded for five third-period goals to outlast the #2 Legends 10-5 in their Pee Wee B lacrosse opener Saturday morning at Hassen Memorial Arena.

Caedon Bellmann and Jaxxon Collard, each with a pair, led the #1 Legends’ attack, with singles coming from Nathaniel Foster, Jacob Brewer, Randall Toop, Ethan Lavoie, Matthew Latham-Watt and Kord Haller.

Said B1 coach Casey Sherriff: “I’m proud of every one of these kids so far. They’ve come to the rink eager to learn and have surprised me every time they step on the floor.”

Tied 5-5 after two periods, the B1 team stayed out of the box and capitalized on some nice pick and rolls to help Brayden Leveille pick up the win.

Kael Black bagged four goals for the B2 Legends.

Collard supplied North Okanagan’s lone goal in an 8-1 loss to Shuswap Sunday.

In Midget league play in Armstrong, Zach Kuperus handled North Okanagan’s offence in a 6-1 loss to  Penticton Heat.

Netminder Darnell Havca helped keep the Legends competitive with a 26-save showing as North Okanagan managed just 15 shots.

In Bantam B play, Teige Doughty and Rhys Larsen, on a sweet end-to-end rush, had singles as the #2 Legends fell 3-2 to the Heat.

Goalie Francois Leroux Jr. delivered some monster hits, Jordan Scherck was solid in his crease debut and Tyson Reschke was an offensive sparkplug.
