The Vernon Canadians took two of three Midget AA baseball tilts with Central Okanagan  teams last weekend.

The C’s, coached by Carl Vardon and Ryan Novakowski, lost 18-5 to the Central Okanagan #2 entry Sunday.

Dakota Becker went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI and one run, while Tyler  Droder went 2-for-3 with one run and  Shelby Porteous was 1-for-2 with two runs.

Nick Cherkowski caught for Kalvin Blaser, Hayden Vardon, Caleb Bracken and Becker.

In Saturday action, Vernon grounded the Central Okanagan #3 entry 15-2 in four innings with Becker and Droder each driving in two runs.

Bracken dominated on the hill, throwing to Jake Crandlemire.

Vernon then outlasted the same Central Okanagan crew 19-16 with Ethan Eisenhauer smacking an inside-the-park home run.

Droder had a triple and single, while Bracken had an RBI-double. Crandlemire tossed out a runner at second after a a strikeout.

Blaser, Graham Moss, Becker, Porteous and    Droder took the mound.

In Midget AAA play, Vernon smothered Kelowna 9-1 with Ty Wellman tossing a complete-game two-hitter. He allowed one run and struck out 10 batters.

Landon Currie went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Caden Doyle was 2-for-4 with a double, single, two runs and two stolen bases. Wellman was 2-for-3 with one walk, two swiped bags and two runs.

Tyler Liefke doubled, scored once, stole one base and walked, while Jared Leroux recorded a run, one RBI and one steal.

The Canadians (5-3) are third in the 10-team circuit and entertain the South Fraser Giants Saturday and the Cloverdale Spurs Sunday in twinbills starting at 1 p.m.
