Coldstream’s own Austin Roest appears headed for Tennessee.

The Everett Silvertips forward has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Nashville Predators, general manager Barry Trotz announced Friday, March 1. The deal will begin ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

“I’m really excited to get things going in Nashville,” Roest said. “It’s an amazing organization with great development staff and a great general manager. It’s a crazy atmosphere in Nashville. Both they and [AHL affiliate] Milwaukee are used to winning so it’s exciting for sure.”

Roest, 20, has 59 points in 54 games in the WHL for Everett in 2023-24.

The 5-foot-11, 182-pound forward is the Silvertips captain and tied for 17th in goals among all WHL skaters with 31, two shy of passing his career high of 32. Roest has also recorded three of his four career WHL hat tricks this season.

Selected by the Predators in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft, Roest has 177 points in 196 career WHL games, all with Everett. This season marks his fourth with the Washington-based club.

The Coldstream native was named Everett’s most improved player following the 2022-23 season, after doubling his offensive output from his rookie campaign and establishing new career highs in goals, assists, and points.

He is also the son of former NHL player and current Tampa Bay Lightning assistant general manager Stacy Roest.
