The North Okanagan Storage For Life Novice #2 Legends hope to add a playoff title to their championship season this weekend.

The Legends ended the regular campaign with nine wins and three ties after drawing 11-11 with Kamloops #1 before stopping the same team 8-5 to clinch first place and push Kamloops to runner-up.

The playoffs go this weekend in Enderby with the Legends earning a bye to Saturday’s semifinals at 2 p.m. The final goes Sunday in Enderby at 1 p.m.

Kohen Pounder pocketed three goals and Waylen Stowards and Kian Yargeau added deuces as the Legends iced host Kamloops Saturday afternoon.

Alex Hart also scored in support of Brayden Rypkema. The Legends outshot Kamloops 40-19.

Pounder triggered four goals, while Yargeau counted three, Teigan Kelley rang up a pair and singles came from Hart and Stowards. The Legends enjoyed a 34-21 shot advantage.

The North Okanagan Bantam B Legends went 1-1 in their final weekend of regular league play.

Joey Mazzei had his best game of the season, scoring five times as the Legends shelled Kelowna Friday night in Rutland.

Kole Watson, Nate Benn and Tayber Mclean scored in the first period, with Mazzei lighting it up and getting the last five goals.

Saturday saw the Legends lost 12-2 to the visiting Nicola Valley of Merritt. Tye Krause and Mazzei scored in the first period.

The playoffs start Saturday morning at Nor-Val Sports Centre in Armstrong.
