Ostafew/Gott grab Wallington Cup

Brian Ostafew and Randy Gott shot a combined low gross 72 Sunday to win the annual Wallington Cup at the Vernon Golf and Country Club.

There was a field of 20 two-man teams.

Ostafew and Gott each earned a $45 gift card to the pro shop.

Runner-ups in the first flight were Bob Schultz and Ken Kurbis, at 73. They spent $40 apiece in pro shop dollars.

Dave Murison and John Martin carded a 75 for third place in the top flight, good for $30 in the pro shop.

In the second flight, it was Peter McClean and Fakri Siddiqui taking first place at 78, good for $45 in gift cards.

Rick Nash and Dave Nash were second at 83, earning $40 in merchandise, followed by Ron Schwab and Don Kelly with 85.

The low net championship in flight 1 went to Chris Rogers and Laurie Shykora with a 65.6. They pocketed $45 in the pro shop.

Peter Smith and Mike Sheldon were second at 68.2, followed by Mark Longworth and Dale Ortman at 69.5.

Net winners in the second flight were Don Wood and Jim Elliott at 66.7. Fred Chirkoff and John Kynock were next at 70.5, while John Guest and Jack Fife took third at 71.7

The annual Husband and Wife tournament goes Sunday, Oct. 9.
