The weather was hot, but the competition was even hotter at the Vernon Golf and Country Club (VGCC).
Through the blazing heat, 87 of the top senior golfers competed at the VGCC Senior Club Championships, Saturday and Sunday, July 13-14.
Golfers were pegged in two categories, senior and masters, with prizes for gross (overall) score and net (subtracting player's handicap from their gross).
Taking home top gross honours was Mark Ciupka, who shot 137 through two rounds, fetching him a $100 gift card.
Second place went to Tom Ross, with a 145 overall score.
The low net winner went to Andy Erickson, who tabulated a 138, which also won him a $100 gift card from the VGCC.
The masters winner was Bob Everitt, who tallied a seven over 79 score on Sunday which netted him a $50 gift card.
According to senior men's captain Ben Lays, the turnout was "great," despite the hot weather.
