A total of 64 players competed in the second annual Vernon Pickleball Club Open Invitational Tournament on a sunny Saturday at MacDonald Park tennis courts.

“Some of the top ranked players in Western Canada participated in our tournament,” said club director Cheri Burgess. “Many players came from out of town (Richmond, Penticton, Kamloops, Kelowna) and the courts were lined with spectators. We would like to thank Vernon Volkswagen for the use of their event tent.”

The pickleball club now has more than 225 register members. Outdoor play continues throughout the summer at MacDonald Park and Middleton Mountain.

Newcomers can attend free lessons Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at MacDonald Park. Check the Club’s website, vernonpickleballclub.org, for more information.
