Four Greater Vernon Minor Hockey teens have caught the eye of B.C. Hockey.

Four Greater Vernon Minor Hockey teens have caught the eye of B.C. Hockey.

Scott Gilowski, Colby Feist, Corbin Hanson and Nic Teale have been invited to the 2016 U15  provincial tournament May 5-8 at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

The four helped the Vernon Sun Valley Source For Sports Bantam Vipers win the Okanagan championship, along with the silver medal at the B.C. Tier 2 Bantam finals in Salmon Arm, where they lost to Campbell River.

The U15 provincial tournament offers B.C.’s top 14-year-old players the experience of competing with the best players in their age group in the province.

More than 500 players tried out for 160 spots at four regional camps. The Okanagan/Kootenay camp was held in Rutland.

The objective of the U15 program is to educate, train and offer a high-performance experience to 14-year-old hockey players.

The program is a precursor to B.C. Hockey’s  U16 High Performance Program.
