The Five Star Awards Rebels pulled off a pair of comeback North Okanagan Bantam Super Hockey League wins, edging the DCT Chambers Cougars 3-2 and the Winfield Bruins 5-4.

On Saturday against the Cougars, Maisun Ang-Hamilton deflected a Jayden Veit backhander upstairs to tie things at 1-1. After the Cats clawed ahead again, Ang-Hamilton fed Tyler Kruysifix at the right point for a goal.

In the third, Cole Grevatt took a Caleb James pass and stickhandled deep into the Cougar zone. Driving the net, Braydon Beese buried Grevatt’s centering pass for the winner.

On Sunday, Rebels Quinn Soon, Veit, and James expeditiously combined to put Ang-Hamilton in the clear, and the captain capitalized with a bolt to the blocker side. After the Bruins rattled off three straight, Ang-Hamilton found a yawning cage after a beautiful set up by Beese on a 2-on-1.

Sapion Joe then blasted one past the goalie’s glove to even the score. Next, Veit stole the puck in front of the Winfield net and roofed it on the backhand. The winner came on an expertly executed power play. Point man Tyler Hamilton fed the high slot, where James redirected the pass backdoor to Ang-Hamilton, who capped his hat trick.

The North Okanagan White Knights cranked up their offence in a pair of Atom victories.

Kohen Pounder pulled the hat trick and drew two helpers as the Knights shelled the North Okanagan Black Knights 9-3 Sunday in Enderby, while Aidan Wattie scored four times as the Knights grounded Summit Financial of Vernon Saturday at PV.

Waylen Stowards, with a deuce, Kade Blair, Wattie, Cody Collette and Parker Levesque completed the offence versus the Black Knights.

Collette (2), Alex Hart and Levesque rounded out the attack in Vernon. Brayden Rypkema took the wins.

Jaden Steinke counted three goals as the Talon Benefits Thrashers bounced Blackburn Excavating of Salmon Arm 6-3 in Midget Super League play Sunday at Civic Arena.

Brendan Horsfield (2) and Dakota Becker also clicked for the banner-winning 12-0-4 Thrashers, who got three assists from Jordan Romailler. The Blackburn crew dipped to 10-3-3.

The Nedco Blazers grounded the Lakeside Sting of Salmon Arm 7-1 in Midget play Sunday at Civic.

Offensive d-man Elias Wery (1A) skated circles around the Sting, keeping them off balance and boosting many of the Blazers’ 48 scoring chances.

Tyler Semeniuk supplied 5+1, while Reid Lawrence earned 1+3 and Aaron Jodoin also scored once as the Blazers improved to 7-8.

Semeniuk produced four goals, while Chapperon Chillihitzia and Colton Schaper-Cotter each had three as the Blazers ambushed the Vernon Authentic Trophy & Plaque Hawks 16-3 in an inter-city tilt Monday night at Civic. Dexter Weiten and Wery each garnered deuces, while Lawrence and Tanner Bueckert contrbuted singles.

Sean Howard, Cody Webb and Nick Mitchell replied for the Hawks, who bowed 4-2 to the host Winfield Bruins Saturday night with Howard and Seb Wenger getting goals.
