In other Pee Wee action, the  Stevenson Mechanical Bolts bounced the Salmar Classics 8-5 Saturday at the Shaw Centre.

Ronan Bedard, Ashton Pede and Sapien Joe each tallied twice for the Bolts (6-4-1). Defence partners Bradley Halvorson and Jackson Soucy were pillars of strength, each racking up a plus-seven rating.

Down by an early goal, the Bolts countered with a pair. First, Halvorson’s point shot deflected to Joe in the slot and he found the range.

Then, Logan Thoma burst down the right wing and rimmed the puck around to Bedard, who walked out of the corner and sniped low.

After Salmon Arm tied it, Shaelyn Cecchini dashed in and ripped a rising wrister that handcuffed the Salmar keeper. Hard-charging Caleb James knocked in the loose puck.  Seconds later, Pede put the Bolts up by two, burying Chris Bond’s rebound.

Stevenson Mechanical then broke the game wide open with a totally dominant second period.

Bedard converted a centering feed from Bond.  Next, Pede put Cecchini in the clear, and she threaded the five-hole.  James then connected with Pede, who stepped over the Salmar line and uncorked a knuckler that skipped over the goalie’s pad.

Joe swiped the puck in the high slot and went blocker side early in the third.  Ethan Keber stemmed the Salmar tide with a clutch glove save.
