The Revelstoke Cricket Club was in Kamloops last weekend (July 2) for their second competitive match of the season, and although they ended up on the losing end again, the team put on a much-improved performance.

According to Matt Bramall, skipper of the Revelstoke Cricket Club, the team ‘made significant progress in their development’ and built on recent performances.

“The batting is shaping up really well,” said Bramall. “The fielding was much better this week too. But we will need to work on our positioning and be more accurate with the ball when we can organize another game”

Revelstoke started strong with impressive batting from Gaurav Joshi, Jagwinder Samra, and Nagender Kanwar, but two key partnerships in the second half of the innings meant the away team posted a defendable total of 123-9.

Kamloops showed their experience, with their captain Chandan Singh playing a knock of 48 not out that saw his side grab the victory.

“Huge credit to Kamloops bowlers, they didn’t make it easy for us to score out there,” said Bramall.

“They bowled to their field and there were very few bad balls to hit. But Gaurav really got us motoring, the runs at the end from Jagwinder and Nagender were crucial.”
