Rock solid season in the books for Vernon Curling Club

Team Batty won the club’s Aggregate Trophy while Team Houle won the year-end bonspiel

Vernon Curling Club is relishing a season that saw a return to normal at the rink, and after finishing its first full season since the beginning of the pandemic, it’s time to celebrate.

The club’s senior league wrapped up with Team Batty winning the Bannister Honda Aggregate Trophy, having earned the best round robin record. The team was comprised of club members Brad Snyder, Doug McCrae, Duane Batty, Kevin Gatzke, Dave Poggemoeller and Wayne Ovens.

Team Houle came out on top in the club’s year-end bonspiel, with team members Hubert Houle, Liev Skaalid, Kevin Gatzke and Bob Rinald earning bragging rights for the year.
