The Royals shut down the Whites 4-0 in Subway U14/15 youth soccer action last weekend.

Katelyn Holm was brilliant in recording the shutout.

“She is much appreciated and admired by all her teammates,” said Royals’ coach Shelly Johnston.

Rebecca Haberstock, who has been getting a goal per game with her big accurate shot, scored first.

Feisty Josey Nerling then wisely followed her rebound after taking a shot which resulted in a fumble which Nerling buried.

A big boot from Hannah Miller from just outside the 18 just went over the keeper’s head, while a hard blast on the ground from Bridgette Peterson beat the Whites’ keeper.

Sweeper Jenny Sunderland anchored the back line with help from Illyana Christian, Emily Bohmer, Kendra Cormier, Sarah Beka and Taryn Parsonage.

Speedy midfielder Jamie Nicholls attacked the net numerous times with her big sprints.

Excellent play was turned in by centre mids Greenley Schneider and Kaitlyn Rabbitt, who pressed hard to create several chances.

The Royals clipped the Reds 3-2 in other  play at Marshall Field #4.

First Royals’ goal came on a nice pass from Kaitlyn Rabbitt to Peterson in front.

The Royals’ second snipe came after a scramble with a back pass going to to the ever-ready Miller for a high loft over the keeper’s head. Rabbitt converted on a beauty for the winner. Holm was again stellar in net.

“We had continuous great efforts by all team members,” said Johnston.

The Red Devils and Royals battled to a 3-3 tie in McDonald’s U11 boys action.

The Devils pulled out to an early 3-0 lead on goals by Gavin Ingbrigston (2) and Exavier Roberts and assists going to Cormac Gibson (2) and Daniel (The Rock) Jassi.

Keeper Kieran Nanda recorded some clutch saves late in the half. Cole Toponce was the two-way player of the game for the Devils.
