Mark your calendars and remember the dates because the stage is now set for Penticton to once again play host to the Vancouver Canucks’ Young Stars Classic.
The Canucks announced on Tuesday, June 6, the schedule for the 10th annual edition of the pre-season tournament, set to be played at the South Okanagan Events Centre from Sept. 15 to 18.
Along with players from B.C.’s team, the event will welcome some of the NHL’s brightest prospects from the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets.
The hometown Penticton Vees will also host the Chilliwack Chiefs in B.C. Hockey League pre-season action during the four-day event.
Full tournament packages go on sale Friday, June 23, and dates and times for each of the games can be found below:
• Winnipeg vs. Edmonton (Sept. 15, 4 p.m.)
• Calgary vs. Vancouver (Sept. 15, 7 p.m.)
• Penticton vs. Chilliwack (Sept. 16, 2 p.m.)
• Calgary vs. Edmonton (Sept. 16, 7:30 p.m.)
• Vancouver vs. Winnipeg (Sept. 17, 2 p.m.)
• Winnipeg vs. Calgary (Sept. 18, 11 a.m.)
• Vancouver vs. Edmonton (Sept. 18, 2:30 p.m.)
This year’s Young Stars Classic will also feature a number of community gatherings, including the annual Party on the Plaza, On-Ice Officials Clinics, and a Hockey Talk with Canucks assistant general manager Cammi Granato.
Since its inception more than a decade ago, the tournament has featured the likes of current NHL superstars Connor McDavid and Elias Pettersson.
In its announcement Tuesday, the team says season-ticket members from the Vancouver Canucks, Abbotsford Canucks SOEC Premium Seating/Suites and Cyber Club Members, as well as Penticton Vees season Ticket Members, will have access to exclusive pre-sales ahead of June 23.
