The Shepherd’s Hardware North Okanagan Legends #1 Novice squad split a pair of tight lacrosse contests, losing at home and winning on the road.

The Legends fell 6-5 to the Nicola Valley Thunder in Merritt Sunday before rebounding to beat the North Okanagan #2 Legends 4-3 Tuesday at the Nor-Val Sports Centre.

Two third-period goals by Colton Colmorgen gave the Legends a 5-4 lead in Merritt, but the Thunder scored two late goals.

“The team had a much better performance improving their defensive play,” said Legends head coach David Evans. “The hard work in practice is paying off.”

Bradley Scabar added a goal and assist while Ryder Ritchie and Cam Ward also notched singles. Evan Hopkins was stellar in net for Legends.

In the all-North Okanagan battle, Shepherd’s Hardware came from behind for a 4-3 win.

Noah Pearson led the Legends with two goals while Scabar and Ritchie added singles.

Hopkins earned his first win and the entire squad turned in its best defensive performance of the season.
