Stampede excitement

The threat of rain wasn’t enough to keep droves of spectators away from the 93rd annual Falkland Stampede last weekend.

More than 5,000 rodeo-goers flooded the gates during the three-day event, with Saturday breaking attendance records.

Worry over the inclement weather turned out to be unfounded as professional cowboys competed for more than $45,000 in prizes under rain-free skies.

Spectators were thrilled as some of the best in the business competed in saddle bronc riding, bareback, bull riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, ladies barrel racing, team roping and boys steer riding.
