The Summerland Minor Hockey Association will celebrate Canucks Day in the community on Oct. 6.

This event will take place at the Summerland Arena from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will provide players with hockey fun and opportunities to learn from top-level players.

Special guests for the event will be Vancouver Canucks mascot Fin and former NHL goaltender Kirk McLean.

“We are beyond excited to host Canucks Day in Summerland,” said Cam Barker, vice-president of the Summerland Minor Hockey Association. “This event provides a unique opportunity for our young players to interact with their heroes and learn from their experiences. We believe it's a day they will remember for a long time.”

The community can visit the arena and cheer on the local players, enjoy the atmosphere and perhaps take a photo with Fin and McLean.

This event shows the commitment of the Summerland Minor Hockey Association and the Canucks to fostering young talent and promoting the sport.
