Vernon U11 Boys Tolko United Team Nice travelled to Salmon Arm this past weekend with mixed results, a 3-1 loss vs Kelowna United and a lopsided 10-0 win vs Revelstoke.

In the first game vs Kelowna United, the boys got caught off guard and they were ambushed by Kelowna.

Down 3-0 at the half, Coach Nice rallied the troops and Vernon Tolko came out determined to score. Tristiano Driedzic owned the left wing with several chances that just missed the net.

Thomas Nice scored the only goal for Tolko and newbie Alistair Meyer controlled the midfield. Alessandro Durfeld, Jeffrey Curtis, Ford Race and Adam Levesque had solid games that shut down the Kelowna offence in the second half. Luca Van de Vosse made some outstanding saves in net.

In Game 2 vs Revelstoke, Vernon Tolko dominated possession on a soggy, mud-filled pitch. Goals were scored by Sam Levesque x2, Tristiano Driedzic x2, Rylan Nadurak x2, Meyer, Nice and William Russel and an own goal by Revelstoke. Revelstoke battled hard and almost scored in the final minutes but the boys were inspired to keep the clean sheet and earn a free Slurpee offered by the coaching staff.

The U11 boys play at home this coming Sunday and both teams will be working hard to win on home turf. Games are at Marshall field at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
