Vernon Lightning lose to hometown Thunder

Tune-up game during last weekend of winter break

Vernon Thunder and Vernon Lightning played a tune up game at the end of winter break.

Thunder came out on the winning side of a 4-3 score. Ginger Demetrick scored first for the Thunder on a pass from Makenna Pilon. Lucia Manton then tied the game assisted by Cali Fossum. Cassidy Cruikshank scored two goals, one assisted by Hailey Robert and Georgia Stowards also scored for the Thunder to end the first period up 4-1.

In the second period Claire Penner assisted by Mara Corbett-Read and Cali Fossum added goals for the Lightning who pushed hard for the equalizer but did not succeed.

Ebony Patrick took the win in net for the Thunder and Cassidy Peterson was in net for the Lightning.
