Vernon racked up 200 points while earning three gold medals in the November Chill Speed Skating Meet Saturday at the McArthur Island Sports Centre in Kamloops.
Harrison Mullin, making his speed skating debut, along with Nate Benn, Jared Eddy, Lauryn Eddy, Shaughnessy Barker, Laura Hall, Daniel Hall and Peter Blokker all raced to help Vernon finish ahead of bigger clubs like Burnaby, Sardis and Port Coquitlam.
Barker took the 1,500 and 500 division 3 events, while striking silver in the 400 with four personal bests.
Benn won the 400-metre race and placed third in the 100, both personal bests, while Jared Eddy topped the 400, was third in the 200 and skated to four personal bests, all in division 1.
Mullin was second in the 100 and third in the 200, both division 1 PBs, while Laura Hall placed second in the 400 and 1,500 and fourth in the 100 and 200 with three division 2 PBs.
Lauryn Eddy finished second in the 100 and third in the 400 and 100 with four division 1 PBs, while Daniel Hall produced silvers in the 400 and 1,500 and fourths in the 100 and 200 for three division 1 PBs. Blokker was third in the 777, 1,500, 500 and 1,000 with three division 6 PBs.
Lauryn Eddy is the winner of the club’s Personal Best Challenge for October. Coaches select the recipient based on commitment and progress.
