Falcon Thomas cranked a two-run homer to ignite a six-run first inning. Chase Batchelor drove in two runs in the same inning and finished with two hits in three at bats.

Brady Beacom went 3-for-3 with three ribbies.

The Canadians, coached by Mark Batchelor, Gus Morris and Colin Rafferty, took on Campbell River Thursday afternoon.

Vernon, who defeated the Kelowna Cubs in the Okanagan zone final Sunday, meet the Cubs today at noon and close preliminary play Saturday against North Delta.
