Vernon swimmers race to career bests at Nelson meet

Vernon swimmers took over southeast B.C., with career best times swum at the Nelson Adventure Hotel Spring Splash Meet. 

The Vernon Kokanee Swim Club (VKSC) fielded 38 swimmers, with 159 total best times achieved. 

A VKSC podium sweep was in the 100 metre individual medley, with gold to Niya Kashuba, silver to Julia Russell and bronze to Julia Brandner. 

Jaris Krahn reached a sub-four-minute number in the 200 m individual medley, with a time of 3:52.07.

Krahn and Ellie Poulin also achieved 100 per cent personal best times. 

Among the other highlights at the meet were big drops in time from Livia Aucamp in the 100 m backstroke, Adaelyn Baron in the 200 m individual medley and Rowan Brett in the 200 m butterfly.

Lola Tanzola, Cadel Simms, Mac Poulin, Ellie Poulin, Alexa Pereboom and Nilah Mulligan also achieved time drops.
