Vernon Kokanee swimmers (VKSC) had another outstanding performance at an Okanagan meet, this time in Penticton.
The Penticton Pentathlon (Oct. 18-20) swim meet featured 10 teams from the interior and lower mainland. VKSC fielded a group of 43 swimmers, who achieved 276 best times.
The 15 event Pentathlon was completed by 13 VKSC swimmers: Emily Adam (who won the 14-15-year-old girls category), Teo Bos, Rowan Brett, Zion Ellis, Dean Goldie, Abby Helm, Jed Hubbard, Norah McIntyre, Kubrick Reed, Julia Russell, Kilian Russell, Kaeden Uesson, and Korbin Wade.
"Outstanding racing and great job on tackling the tough challenge of the Pentathlon," said Amie Ellis. "Congratulations to everyone who raced."
Adaelyn Baron, Al Chen, Kayne Clark, Nicole Fang, Ethan Henry, Brandon Laidlaw, McKinley Poulin, Chloe Ruessmann, Lola Tanzola, Wade and Wesley Wynsouw all swam to career-best times. Fifteen swimmers met the divisional qualifying standards.
In the jamboree competition, 108 new best times were set by 30 VKSC participants.
