The Vernon Tennis Association (VTA) welcomed back new and existing members over the weekend, at its annual barbecue event.
Hosted on Saturday, May 27, the VTA had the chance to host their newest players, with three hours of friendly round robin hitting and lunch.
The activities proved to be a fun way to introduce the new players to current VTA members and its board directors.
If you are interested in becoming a member, the VTA offers reserved courts five evenings a week and one morning a week for competitive league and drop-in social play.
In addition, the association also hosts weekly doubles, mixed doubles and singles leagues, along with special camps and programs.
There is also a junior program, where youth aged six to 18 can compete in ladder tournament, and fun skill-based practices.
VTA play out of the Marshall Field Courts. They are public courts, but are reserved for VTA play five days a week. The four courts are located next the pickleball complex.
