The Vernon Vipers bounced back from a overtime loss on Friday to defeat the BCHL leading Penticton Vees, 2-1 in a shootout on Saturday, Nov. 25 from Kal Tire Place.
Vernon started the scoring in the game, with Maks Percic’s first of the season 14:29 into the opening frame.
Parker Murray of the Vees would respond in the second, as he took advantage on the power play to bury his first of the season.
After a scoreless third and overtime, the Vipers would head to extra time for the second straight game.
In the shootout, Georgios Stavrianeas would score in the seventh round to give the home team the victory.
Goaltender Ethan David stymied the Vees all night with 41 saves, for his 12th win of the season.
Will Ingemann of the Vees took the loss in net, stopping 23 of 24.
Vernon now sits second in the Interior Conference, with a 15-5-1 record for 31 points, three back of the Vees.
The West Kelowna Warriors come to town next, on Wednesday, Nov. 29. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
