The Vernon Vipers 2024-25 BCHL season is right around the corner.

But before it begins, the league announced the winners of the annual Kyle Turris Community Award, given out to players who go above and beyond in their community during the 2023-24 season. Each team submits a winner from the organization.

Two Vipers stalwarts, Julian Facchinelli and Luke Pakulak were given the award.

"Both of these players have volunteered many hours off the ice over the season," said the BCHL. "They both understand the commitment of being a junior hockey player away from the rink and set great examples for our younger players."

Facchinelli spent the last two seasons with the Vipers, and will be attending Princeton University in the fall.

Pakulak has been a part of the Vipers organization for four years. He will be heading to Clarkson University.

The Vipers regular season begins Friday, Sept. 6.
