Steve Ushy supplied 2+1 as the Royal LePage Whalers outlasted the Kal Tire Knights 8-6 in Vernon Hockey League action Tuesday night at Civic Arena.

Mike Sutch, with the winner, Denis Ouellette with an empty-netter, Darrell Rahier, Cory Nicholson, Marc Bevan and Ben Cave also scored for the Whalers.

Kyle Johnson, Ouellette and Bevan each pocketed a pair of assists in support of netminder James Scherck.

Bobby Nicholls pulled the hat trick for Kal Tire, while Cody Watson had 2+1 and Brad Jones scored once. Murray Ford earned two helpers.

The Kalavida Flyers got 3+2 from Corey Massie in a 6-3 win over the Kasper Denture Clinic Red Wings Tuesday night at Priest Valley Arena.

Jeff Kuzniar provided 2+2 and Rick Galvagno had one goal for the Flyers, who led 2-0 at the midway break. Logan Massie counted four assists, while Cory Ferguson had three in front of Byron Tiggelaar.

Duane Dennis (2) and Jarret Watts replied for the Wings, who got two helpers each from Mike Tew and Jason Kasper.
