Morning Start: Could you bear living in the snowiest city on earth?

If you’re praying for better weather you’re not alone. Harsh winter conditions persist in the Okanagan making travel increasingly dangerous.

Fun Fact of the day:

The snowiest city on earth is in Japan.

Aomori City in northern Japan receives more snowfall than any major city on the planet. Each year citizens are pummeled with 312 inches, or about 26 feet, of snow on average.

Weather forecast according to Environment Canada:

If you plan to head outside today you might want to bundle up.

Temperatures are expected to hover around -19 Celsius throughout the day, but with the wind chill will feel more like -24 C this morning and – 29 C this afternoon.

A blowing snow advisory is also in effect for the Okanagan Valley this morning.
