Skiers rejoice as snow falls at Big White

The village was covered in white stuff Friday morning

Snow at Big White.

Snow dusted the village at Big White Ski Resort, on Friday morning.

The village is at an elevation of 1755 metres and snow could been seen sprinkled across rooftops after Environment Canada called for precipitation overnight.

The pow cam at Big White shows just less than 5 cm of white stuff at the hill.

SilverStar also received snow on Friday just as the ski hill prepares to wrap up early bird pass sales on Saturday.

For the Central Okanagan, there is a risk of a thunderstorm late Friday afternoon, with a high of 15 C.

There is a 30 per cent chance of showers in the evening with an overnight low of 5 C.

Saturday will be sunny and 15 C.
