The Penticton Vees are at the front and centre of a video project that asks, what makes a man?

Directed and produced by Kelowna videographer Harrison Mendel, the video showcases the Penticton hockey team, including Harrison’s younger brother, Vees defenceman Griffin Mendel.

“He would send me snippets throughout his process of making it, so it is cool to see it developed,” said Griffin on Monday.

“He asked me if he could make a video of the team and I knew the videos he makes are pretty special so I thought it would awesome if he could make one for our team.

“I think everybody really liked it. It is not every day you see a video like that of your team, especially at the junior level.”

Griffin said his brother has been working in videography for about five years and he was impressed his brother managed to get some of the shots and visuals he did.

Vees forward Ryley Risling said he thought the video was ‘unbelievable’ and he was impressed with Harrison’s talent.

“We were all wondering what it was going to look like, with the crew hanging around and filming practice and what not and the end result was really, really good,” said Risling.

“We got to do some cool stuff at practice to look cool on film. It took a lot of work and it clearly showed in the end result.

It is something you’ll remember for the rest of your life.”

The Vees are currently playing in the Western Canada Cup.
