Jon Brumwell scored the winner on the powerplay with 2:26 to play as the Alberni Valley Bulldogs brushed back the Vernon Vipers 4-3 in B.C. Hockey League action Saturday night at Wesbild Centre.
The Dawgs went 2-for-5 on the man advantage while holding Vernon scoreless on four attempts.
First star Ryan Lough collected a pair of goals for Alberni, who got a single from Matthew Hansen.
Vernon’s three latest forward recruits – Liam Board, Dexter Dancs and Andrew Tegeler – countered for the Vipers.
Jay Deo recorded 31 saves for the win. Austin Smith had 26 stops for the Snakes.
