Mike Moran fired the winner with five minutes to play as the Victoria Grizzlies squeaked out a 4-3 win over the Vernon Vipers in B.C. Hockey League action Friday night at Wesbild Centre.
The two teams traded a pair of powerplay goals each, with Mike Zalewski and Darren Nowick connecting for the Vipers, and Jarryd Ten Vaanholt and Wesley Myron answering for Victoria, to make it 2-2 midway through the second period.
Call-up Dayne Ellison gave the visitors a 3-2 edge at 13:29, but Aaron Hadley equalized for Vernon late in the second frame.
The Vipers entertain the Merritt Centennials Saturday night at Wesbild.
