SilverBacks sting Vipers in OT

Adam Clark records 38 saves as Salmon Arm SilverBacks ground Vernon Vipers 3-2 in overtime Saturday night at Wesbild Centre.

Their scoring chances weren’t plentiful, but the Salmon Arm SilverBacks made the most of the ones they got in Saturday night’s 3-2 overtime win over the Vernon Vipers at Wesbild Centre.

Josh Bowles buried the OT winner off a rebound 1:53 into extra time to give the ‘Backs their first B.C. Hockey League win in four games.

The Vipers outshot the Gorillas 40-23, but had trouble solving third star netminder Adam Clark, who turned in a 38-save showing.

Mike Roberts and Aaron Hadley tallied for the Snakes, who led 1-0 after one period.

Troy Petrick, on a 5-on-3, and Jeff Kennedy, on a buzzer beater, clicked for Salmon Arm in the second period.
