Valley First gives back to local charities

Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, will celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with Simple Generosity

Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, will celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with Simple Generosity, a 12-month program that applauds community volunteerism and supports local charities and non-profits.

Every week throughout 2017, an individual or team who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to community through their volunteer efforts will be selected from the regions in which First West operates. Those selected can then donate $1,500 to the charity of their choice.

“At Valley First we believe that volunteer engagement is crucial to building resilient communities,” says Susan Ewanick, president of Valley First.

“Fifteen individuals from our communities in the Okanagan, Similkameen and Thompson valleys will be chosen throughout 2017, which represents $22,500 that we’ll be donating to organizations that directly impact our residents and our neighbourhoods.”

Nominations can be submitted online at valleyfirst.ca/simplegenerosity.
