It’s become a staple at Staples.

The Vernon company has again helped the North Okanagan Youth and Family Services Society with another successful Back to School project, which helps buy backpacks and school supplies for youth in the North Okanagan.

This year, through bake sales, garage sales, a barbecue, silent auction and iPad raffle, Staples staff and customers raised $20,000.

“We’d like to thank all of the local businesses that contributed items for the auction,” said Staples manager Jamie Wattie.

The agencies involved with the project include NOYFSS, Whitevalley Community Resource Centre, Family Resource Centre and the Salvation Army.

“We’d like to thank Staples and their staff for their ongoing support and hard work,” said Lorel Brown, NOYFSS’ program supervisor/quality assurance co-ordinator.

The project helped 432 children and youth in the Vernon area.
