North Okanagan residents are urged to roll up their sleeves and save a life.

Canadian Blood Service is hosting blood donor clinics at Vernon’s Trinity United Church Dec. 11 and 12, Jan. 10 to 12 and Feb. 5 and 6.

“Generous donors have made a vital difference in the lives of thousands of patients who needed blood products,” said David Patterson donor relations director.

“On average, someone in Canada requires blood or blood products every 60 seconds. And while one in two Canadians is eligible to donate, only one in 60 does.”

To book an appointment for any upcoming clinic, download the GiveBlood app available for iOS on the App Store or for Android on Google Play, call 1-888-236-6283 or visit blood.ca.

“Community volunteers from Vernon are also an important part of our clinic team. We appreciate and value their time and support in ensuring Canadian patients get the blood products they need,” said Patterson.
