The Regional District of North Okanagan’s composter rebate program has been extended until Dec. 31.
RDNO will offer a $30 rebate to residents who purchase an approved composter at a participating retailer during 2016.
The participating retailers are Shepherd’s Home Hardware Building Centre in Armstrong, Central Hardware Timber Mart in Enderby, Irly Bird Building Centres in Lumby and in Vernon, Briteland, Rona Home Centre, Fishers Hardware, Canadian Tire, Swan Lake Nurseryland and Home Building Centre
There are several approved models to choose from at the participating retailers. They include Garden Gourmet Composters, Rotating and Tumbling Composters, Terra Composters, Free Garden Earth or Earth Machine Composters, vermicomposters, and Briteland’s BioBin.
Rebate application forms are available at www.rdno.ca/recycle/composting and at the RDNO office. They may also be available at the participating retailers. There are a limited number of rebates available.
