A Christmas tradition continues.

Members of the Lansdowne chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star recently presented ditty bags and lap blankets to Vernon Women’s Transition House.

The order has,  for more than 21 years, been donating handmade ditty bags filled with toiletries, colouring books, crayons, and a stuffed toy for a child,” said Patricia Glen, with the Lansdowne chapter.

“Once again, we have joined with Shelomi Club, Daughters of the Nile, which has donated the lap blankets.”

The Order of the Eastern Star also collects cancelled stamps that  are sold, with the proceeds going to material to make bandages for cancer patients.

“We supply them free of charge throughout B.C. and the Yukon,” said Glen.

To donate stamps, call Diane Mamalick at 250-260-2606.
