The second annual Enderbeer and Wine Festival takes place July 23 at the Enderby Lions Gazebo.

It’s time to raise a toast in Enderby.

The second annual Enderbeer and Wine Festival returns to the Enderby Lions Gazebo July 23 from 6 to 11 p.m.

“Last year went really well and this year will be even better,” said Craig Bell, with the Enderby Fire Department, which is hosting the event.

There will be 13 vendors, including Tin Whistle Brewing, Marten Brewing, Crannog Ales, Sunny Brae Vineyards, Lavina Estate Winery and Edge of the Earth Winery.

Making its first appearance will be Okanagan Spirits distillery, while Planet Bee Meadery will also be present.

Bell says participants have a lot of fun visiting the booths and enjoying a summer evening near the Shuswap River.

“It’s a lot of fun and there’s a really relaxed atmosphere,” he said, adding that food vendors will be on site.

“There will be different food opportunities. There will be smocked chicken wings and frozen yogurt.”

Taking to the stage to provide entertainment will be Vancouver-based Blackberry Wood, which describes itself as a “combination of crazy vaudevillian-jazz-gypsy-circus music.”

The band has performed at the Glastonbury Festival in Britain, the Starbelly Festival in California and the Islands Folk Music Festival in California.

Funds raised during Enderbeer will help the fire department purchase new self-contained breathing apparatus.

“The equipment we have is pretty old and needs to be replaced,” said Bell.

Tickets to attend are $25 each and that includes a souvenir glass. Samples will be $2 per drink.

Tickets for the Enderbeer and Wine Festival  are available at www.ticketseller.ca or in Enderby at Gilberts Auto Parts and Hungry Jack’s.

“Tickets are going pretty fast,” said Bell.
