Caregiving for a loved one who is ill or aging can be a very busy time with lots of planning and decision-making about how to live well with the time that is left.

Knowing what is important to your loved one can make this valuable time more rewarding and less stressful.

The North Okanagan Hospice Society (NOHS) and a variety of partners will present a series of workshops in the North Okanagan about how to start these important conversations.

You are invited to bring your partner, relative or best friend to this interactive workshop called “What are your most important wishes?”

Dr. Carole Robinson from UBC Okanagan will lead these sessions along with staff from Interior Health and North Okanagan Hospice. Funding for this initiative is provided in part by the B.C. Centre for Palliative Care’s Seed Grant Program.

These two-hour workshops will be offered in Armstrong on May 3 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Pleasant Valley Health Centre; in Vernon on May 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Schubert Centre; and in Lumby on May 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Whitevalley Community Resource Centre.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required for each workshop.

To register, contact Tanya at NOHS at 250-503-1800 ext. 101 or e-mail tanya@nohs.ca by April 26.
