This weekend, Christians remember the death and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ who showed love and compassion to all, but especially to the marginalized and those in need.
“Jesus healed those who were forced to beg because of a disability, rescued those who turned to prostitution to survive, praised the poor widow who gave her all and gave stern warning to the wealthy who closed their hearts to the struggling,” said Michael Robinson, with the Vernon Emergency Food Action Network.
During the Easter weekend, five local groups will strive to follow Jesus’ example by serving up meals to those in need.
