The Township of Spallumcheen is holding a free family event to commemorate the township’s 125th anniversary.

The event is taking place Monday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

“There will be cake, a 5-cent general store run by the Pleasant Valley Secondary School grads of 2018, a historical display by the Armstrong Spallumcheen Museum, free draws and samples from the new owners of the Log Barn,” said Spallumcheen Coun. Christine Fraser.

Council will be dressed in historical costumes. It should be a really fun way of commemorating the township’s birthday.”

Mayor Janice Brown will give a brief speech as a prelude to the celebratory birthday cake cutting and serving, noting the official commemoration date was July 21, 1892.
