There may be no such thing as a free lunch, but on Wednesday, Vernon transit users can look forward to both free bus rides and free breakfast.
To thank people who help keep the air clean by using public transit, and to encourage more to join their ranks, Vernon Regional Transit will provide free rides all day.
There will also be a free continental breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the downtown transit exchange at 31st Avenue and 30th Street.
The breakfast is provided by CUPE local 626, the Regional District of North Okanagan, the Downtown Vernon Association and VantageOne Credit Union.
